OUR STORY

Breggo means "sheep" in Boontling, in honor of our place. For 150 years, sheep dominated the agricultural landscape of Anderson Valley. Sheep, like the domesticated vinifera grapevine, occupy and even thrive on the geographic periphery - places too steep, with soils too thin and climates too cold for other types of intensive agriculture. Sheep and vines flourish where the domesticated meets the wilderness. The margins. This is our place.

Breggo Returns

THE TASTING ROOM

In 2023 we bought Breggo back, with the intention of bringing the winery and tasting room back to its Anderson Valley roots. When we heard Phillips Hill was closing, leaving their tasting room in our favorite set of historical buildings on Highway 128 up for grabs, we jumped. Breggo Cellars will open (or re-open) as in its new location — 5101 Highway 128, Philo CA — in February 2024. We will open for tastings from 10:00 AM to 4 PM daily. Book on Tock below or call us

THE WINES

From the founding in 2005, Breggo sourced fruit from the most renowned vineyards of the Anderson Valley, with a focus on vineyard designates. That remains true today. We offer designates from Ferrington, Savoy, Golden Fleece, and our own Lichen Estate. We’ve made Pinot Noir as well as Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, and some méthode champenoise bubbles of Pinot Noir & Pinot Gris. We’re giddy to work with our neighborhood growers again.
